Confidentiality:
At our practice, we understand the significance of your privacy. As mental health therapists, we adhere to strict standards of confidentiality. Everything shared within our therapeutic relationship is held in the strictest confidence, and we are committed to maintaining the privacy and security of your personal information. It's important to note that there are legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, which include situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if there is suspected child or elder abuse. In such cases, we are obligated to take appropriate steps to ensure safety. We will discuss these exceptions with you during our initial sessions, and we can address any concerns you may have about privacy.
Policies:
Cancellation Policy: Life is unpredictable, and we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time may be subject to the full session fee.
Payment Methods: Payment for services is expected at the time of the session unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance. We accept electronic transfers for payment along with major debit and credit cards. If you have insurance coverage, it is your responsibility to understand your benefits and coverage. Any fees not covered by insurance are due at the time of service.
Insurance Information: We are currently providers for the state of New York and Florida; check the services page for a list of accepted insurances. It is advisable to contact your insurance company prior to our sessions to verify coverage, co-payment amounts, and any other relevant details. If you have out-of-network coverage, we can provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Terms and Conditions: Engaging in therapy is a collaborative process, and it's essential that we establish clear expectations. Our work together is based on mutual respect, honesty, and commitment. It's important to communicate openly about your goals, progress, and any concerns that may arise during our sessions. Additionally, please notify us of any changes in your contact information or insurance coverage.
Emergency Situations: While we strive to be accessible, we may not be available for immediate response in case of emergencies. If you are experiencing a crisis, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For crisis support, here are hotline numbers and text services for New York State (NYS) and Florida (FL):
